WASHINGTON: The US economy rocketed ahead at its fastest pace in nearly two decades in the third quarter as consumers, their wallets fattened by tax cuts, went on a buying spree, the government said yesterday.
US gross domestic product (GDP) surged at an unexpectedly strong 7.2% annual rate in the July-September period, a Commerce Department report showed.
