MORGAN Stanley Capital International (MSCI) yesterday announced the inclusion of ASTRO All Asia Network plc into its MSCI Standard indices effective Nov 12.
MSCI said by using the official offering price of RM4.06 - the price institutional investors paid for the pay-TV company – Astro met the free float adjusted market capitalisation threshold used for early inclusions.
“The threshold is currently four times the minimum size guidelines for index inclusions at regular index reviews.
“Consequently for Malaysia, the early inclusion threshold is US$400mil,” MSCI said in its website.
In yesterday’s trading, Astro shares fell 4 sen to close at RM4.72 with 22.2 million shares traded.
As at yesterday, Astro has a market capitalisation of RM9.01bil.
