CAPITALISING on the year-end holiday and festive seasons, HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd has launched a joint campaign with Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd that offers its credit cardholders a free companion air ticket with every purchase of a Cathay Pacific business class air ticket from Malaysia.
HSBC Bank Malaysia personal financial services general manager U Chen Hock said: This is an exclusive promotion by HSBC and Cathay Pacific, and we extend the benefits of flying one of the world's best airlines to 17 destinations across Asia, Europe and the United States.
This is simply the best Cathay Pacific business class air ticket offer one can get in the market currently, he said at the launch of the HSBC-Cathay Pacific promotion in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
HSBC Bank Malaysia now has about 500,000 cardholders. U Chen said the promotion, which ended Dec 15, would help HSBC meet its target of 30,000 new cardholders over the next three months.
He also announced that HSBC Bank Malaysia had become a participating partner of Asia's leading lifestyle reward programme - Asia Miles frequent flyer - as an added benefit to its credit cardholders.
Under the programme, HSBC cardholders can redeem their HSBC rewards points for Asia Miles and earn free flights, upgrades and companion tickets. The bank has also extended its popular balance transfer promotion for existing credit cardholders to Dec 31.
In future, there will be many more exciting promotions to bring greater value for cardholders not only within Malaysia but also when they travel overseas, U Chen said. Currently, HSBC's regional Home and Away programme offers discounts at over 200 merchants in over 13 countries across Asia.
Cathay Pacific country manager Vivian Loh said the offer would allow HSBC cardholders in Malaysia to enjoy the premium products and services of Cathay Pacific.
When they fly long haul on our business class, they will be pampered in the ultimate sleeping comfort of the long flat bed which can be extended to 75 inches from head to toe. she said.
In addition, Loh said there was a bonus option to stop over in Hong Kong on their return journey (if they travel beyond Hong Kong).
