MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Philippine shares closed slightly lower Wednesday on profit-taking triggered by political and economic concerns, traders said.
The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index ended down 3.35 points, or 0.2 percent, at 1382.74, after rising 1.3 percent to an 18-month closing high of 1386.09 Tuesday. Decliners led gainers 26 to 22, while 34 stocks were unchanged.
