Medical cover for foreigners in China

BEIJING: Allianz Dazhong Life Insurance Co Ltd, a joint venture between Germany’s Allianz AG and Shanghai-based Dazhong Insurance Co Ltd, will offer China’s first commercial medical insurance product to foreigners in November, the Economic Observer reported, citing sources with Allianz Dazhong.

The newspaper said the short-term product would fill the current gap in such insurance products being offered to foreign clients in Shanghai, where the medical expenses of 400,000 Taiwanese businessmen and other foreigners could not be covered.
