THE Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) governments and central banks should intensify their efforts to act as catalyst and support providers of Islamic banking, managing director of United Arab Emirates-based Citi Islamic Investment Bank E.C. Saad-Uz Zaman said.
Saad-Uz said the governments could promote the establishment and development of Islamic institutions and instruments via favourable policy changes while the central banks could help develop alternative regulatory mechanisms.
