FELDA Holdings Bhd is expected to be listed on the KLSE main board by early next year, after the completion of the valuation of assets and other related matters, said chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohd Yusof Noor.
All the listing matters were proceeding smoothly and would be submitted to the Finance Ministry as scheduled, he added.
The listing would benefit almost half a million Felda members and their families, he told a press conference after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between KFC Holdings (M) Bhd and Islamic University College of Malaysia (KUIM) in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
He also assured Felda members that the listing would not affect their properties. He said the government's decision to list Felda was in recognition of, and a reward for, the settlers.
On the MoU between KFC and KUIM, KFC group executive chairman Datuk Izhar Sulaiman, said it was to establish a link and a framework for both parties to engage in joint research in fields of mutual interest.
He said KFC would also provide opportunities to KUIM students for part-time employment in its food outlets such as KFC restaurant, Pizza Hut, Kedai Ayamas and Rasa Ayamas restaurant to gain experience as part of their co-curriculum requirement.
KFC will also lend its expertise and provide guest lecturers for relevant courses offered by KUIM, and accept KUIM staff for industrial attachment.
KUIM is Malaysia's 12th public university. Bernama
