AFTER facing years of over-capacity and stagnant growth, players in the local cement industry could possibly be seeing better days, with an industry group forecasting a 23% jump in demand this year.
The Cement and Concrete Association of Malaysia said its estimate was based on the better-than- expected 20% increase in cement consumption in the first nine months 2003 compared with the corresponding period last year.
