A Maju Holdings-led consortium is tapping the construction and engineering expertise of Australia's Leighton group to undertake a RM1.35bil contract that it has won to design and build a new highway between Kuala Lumpur and the new federal administrative capital, Putrajaya.
Leighton Asia (Southern) Ltds share of the contract, worth the equivalent of about A$450mil, is said to be the biggest in dollar terms that the Leighton group has secured in Asia to date, boosting its profile in the region considerably.
