WELLINGTON: Competition regulators have given clearance for Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd (ANZ) to buy National Bank of New Zealand for an estimated US$4bil.
ANZ was left as the sole declared bidder for New Zealand’s biggest bank after rival Westpac Banking Corp pulled out of the running this month, saying it wanted to focus on its existing business. – Reuters
