Tanjong second-quarter net profit jumps to RM110mil

TANJONG plc has reported a 37% jump in net profit to RM110.8mil for the second quarter ended July 31, mainly due to the full-quarter contribution of Panglima Power Sdn Bhd, which converted its power plant into a 720-MW combined cycle gas turbine facility in March. 

Group turnover rose slightly to RM644.4mil from RM636.3mil a year ago, while pre-tax profit grew 19% to RM156.7mil from RM131.8mil.
