LATE bargain-hunting gave the KL market a welcome boost yesterday after three consecutive days of losses. The KLSE Composite Index (CI) closed 6.8 points or nearly 1% higher at 743, more than making up for the 6.6 points it lost on Wednesday.
Dealers said there was obvious relief among investors after the World Health Organisation announced that the suspected SARS case in Singapore did not fit its profile of the killer disease and therefore was “not of international public health concern”.
