PETRA Perdana Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Petra Resources Sdn Bhd has accepted ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc (EMEPMI)’s offer for extension of the retrofits and host tie-in contract for two years.

The contract, starting from Sept 8, is subject to finalisation of certain terms and conditions. The contract extension is in principle in line with the terms of the original three-year primary contract term.

In a statement, Petra executive chairman and chief executive officer Tengku Datuk Ibrahim Petra said the offer for extension was proof of the group's ability to complete the work successfully and on time.

Under the original contract term, Petra successfully undertook modification and upgrading works to existing onshore oil and gas facilities and offshore production platforms operated by EMEPMI in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Petra provided integrated services encompassing project management, design and engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, hook-up and commissioning services for retrofit and host tie-in projects. – Bernama
