SYDNEY: Australian newspaper publisher John Fairfax Holdings Ltd reported yesterday its full-year profit had more than doubled, thanks to tighter cost controls, improved advertising revenues and a smaller loss at its Internet business.
Fairfax, which publishes the Sydney Morning Herald and the Age broadsheets, met its own profit forecast and tipped further earnings growth this year following its expansion into New Zealand publishing.
