SOME 15,000 trade visitors are expected at the Malaysian International Building Exposition 2003 (Malbex 2003), to be held at the MINES exhibition centre in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, from today till Sept 12.

This is the 20th anniversary of Malbex, organised by Reed Exhibitions Sdn Bhd and co-organised by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

Reeds Exhibitions general manager Steven Thong said the large congregation of building industry professionals in the region provided a platform for them to exchange ideas, technology and its application, and also offered an excellent opportunity to view the demonstration of a wide range of products, services and technology in the industry.

A total of 248 companies from 24 countries would be participating in the exposition, he told a press conference in Seri Kembangan yesterday.

In conjunction with the expo, there will be two major conferences organised by the Chartered Institute of Building, Malaysia, and the Master Builder Association of Malaysia. In addition, Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) will hold a one- day conference titled “A PAM Conference on Changing the Mindset: Beyond Practice as an Architect.”
