BY ALL accounts, prospects for the water supply industry are promising. In terms of investments in water projects, the National Water Resources Council (NWRC), the industry's umbrella body, has forecast that the country may need to spend at least RM51.9bil till the year 2050 to build at least 47 dams and large water treatment plants and infrastructure to ease the transfer of water between states.
For water industry players, it means there will be lots of projects up for grabs, especially under the next three Malaysia plans when the bulk of the water projects is likely to be issued for tender.
