Sime Darby Bhd reported yesterday an 11.3% higher pre-tax profit, helped mainly by a strong surge in palm oil products prices, which had boosted earnings from the group's plantation sector.
Group pre-tax profit rose RM140mil to RM1.3bil at end-June, from RM1.1bil a year ago, the company said in a statement to the KLSE. Net profit was 9% higher to RM809.7mil, compared with RM742.8mil previously.
