A practical and down-to-earth person, Datuk KY Lee holds fast to the belief the recipe for success is in the ability of a person has to be a fast learner.
The chairman and CEO of IT-based BenQ said it was imperative for the company's employees to embrace new technologies and acquire the latest know-how to excel in their chosen careers.
Teamwork is another important factor for a company's success, said Lee who was born and bred in Taiwan. His father was a rice miller.
One must not limit his views or outlook in life but should broaden his mind so that he can have a holistic view about the issues at hand, he said.
BenQ, under Lee's leadership currently is one of the leading electronic consumer brands in Taiwan and it is fast making its presence felt globally.
Lee, 52, enjoys outdoor activities including mountain climbing, cycling and hiking. He is also an avid reader and has a passion for history.
Married with three children, Lee said he would allow his children to make their own choices in life.
Lee started his career in Taiwan-based Acer after graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from the National Taiwan University.
He has held various positions in the company before forming BenQ which was formerly known as Acer Communications and Multimedia.
