LINEAR Corp Bhd is offering for sale an additional 8.78% equity interest in its associate Unified Communications Holdings Pte Ltd (UCH), pursuant to the latter's proposed listing on the Singapore stock exchange. 

This follows the company's announcement on Aug 5 of its proposed disposal of a 16.22% interest in UCH.  

Linear will get RM30.21mil from the disposal of the 25% stake in UCH. This compares with its initial investment of RM6.9mil. 

It said in a statement yesterday the offer price was expected to be at a price-earnings ratio of between eight to 10 times based on the fully diluted net earnings of UCH for the year ended Dec 31, 2002.  

Gadang Holdings Bhd has obtained a RM42mil contract from the transport ministry for the Kampung Sungai Tekek Marina development project on Pulau Tioman. 

The construction of a marina, breakwater and cargo jetty would take 80 weeks from Sept 4, Gadang said in a statement. – AFX 

Permaju Industries Bhd has posted a lower pre-tax loss of RM2.42mil for the second quarter ended June 30 compared with a loss of RM3.37mil for the same period in 2002. 

It also recorded lower revenue of RM15.74mil for the quarter versus RM18.65mil in the previous corresponding quarter. – Bernama 

Acoustech Bhd announced a higher pre-tax profit of RM4.51mil for the first quarter ended June 30 versus RM3.98mil in the previous corresponding quarter. 

It recorded a higher revenue of RM53.7mil for the same period compared with RM42.83mil previously. – Bernama 

Formosa Prosonic Industries BHD registered a lower pre-tax profit of RM386,000 for the first quarter ended June 30 against RM4.88mil in the previous corresponding quarter. 

The company posted lower revenue of RM68.49mil for the same period compared with RM74.96mil in 2002. – Bernama 

Tasek Corp Bhd recorded a lower pre-tax profit of RM22.706mil for the year ended June 30 compared with RM34.96mil in 2002. – Bernama 

Ranhill Utilities Bhd'S pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30 amounted to RM26.50mil, down from RM40.54mil in the same quarter last year. Revenue declined to RM94.31mil from RM104.80mil. 

In the first half-year ended June 30, its pre-tax profit stood at RM57.10mil versus RM72.59mil in the same period of 2001. – Bernama 

DENKO INDUSTRIAL CORP BHD has posted a pre-tax loss of RM3.14mil in the first quarter ended June 30 against pre-tax loss of RM3.25mil in the preceding corresponding quarter. Revenue fell to RM8.61mil from RM9.23mil. – Bernama 

KPS Consortium Bhd has posted a pre-tax profit of RM3.74mil in the second quarter ended June 30 compared with RM5.09mil in the same period last year while revenue jumped to RM73.01mil from RM26.67mil. 

For the first half-year ended June 30, its pre-tax profit increased to RM6.65mil from RM4.50mil in the previous year's corresponding period. – Bernama 

Petronas Dagangan Bhd has posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM313.22mil in the first quarter ended June 30 compared with RM24.27mil in the previous corresponding quarter while revenue fell to RM2.18bil from RM2.28bil. – Bernama 

SYMPHONY HOUSE BHD has registered a pre-tax profit of RM3.39mil in the second quarter ended June 30 on the back of revenue of RM7.25mil. – Bernama 

Oriental Interest Bhd has posted a pre-tax profit of RM24.94mil for the financial year ended June 30 compared with RM23.56mil previously. 

For the fourth quarter ending June 30, it posted a lower pre-tax profit of RM7.27mil compared with RM9.02mil in the previous corresponding quarter. – Bernama
