Asia-Pac airlines invest more in IT and telecoms

DESPITE being hit by the “perfect storm” resulting from the SARS outbreak and Iraq war, airlines in the Asia-Pacific invested more in information technology (IT) and telecommunications in the first half 2003, said SITA Inc Asia-Pacific president Lim Soon Hock. 

Quoting figures from the latest Airline IT Trends Survey, SITA’s joint survey with Airline Business magazine, Lim said the latest results showed that investment in IT and telecommunications by carriers in the Asia-Pacific had increased slightly last year to 2.5% of revenues.
