MALAYSIA AIRLINES has reported a wider pre-tax loss for its first quarter ended June 30 than a year ago, hurt by the drop in demand for air travel during the SARS outbreak and the war in Iraq.
For its latest quarter, the national carrier posted a pre-tax loss of RM162mil compared with a loss of RM78mil in the same period last year. Revenue dropped 24% to RM1.67bil.
