AMBANK Group is confident that its credit cardholder base will double to 300,000 by end-March 2004, from the present 150,000, its head of retail banking Mohamed Azmi Mahmood said.
He said that to increase the number of cardholders, the group had launched its second Let’s Duit campaign and roadshow in Kuala Lumpur last Friday.
The campaign was primarily aimed at increasing the number of the group's gold card members, comprising 30% of its 150,000 cardholders, Azmi told a press conference at the launch.
As such, during the campaign period, the qualifying income criteria for gold card had been lowered to RM30,000 per annum from the normal RM42,000, he added.
He said AmBank Group aimed to get 50,000 new credit cardholders during the three-month campaign, which would end in November.
The campaign was open to all new principal conventional and AlTaslif gold and classic card applications, Azmi said.
He said every successful gold card and classic card applicant would receive a free mobile phone gift voucher worth RM400 and RM100 respectively.
Azmi added that the gift voucher for successful gold card applicants could be used to redeem either a Motorola C330 or a Samsung R220 handphone.
Senior general manager of group marketing Suresh Nanoo said that AmBank Group would also be coming out with exciting promotions soon to stimulate card usage and retain existing cardholders, adding that the bank had “a few more surprises”.
He noted that while last year the group’s advertising and promotion had been mainly focused on re-branding, this year it would be on products and services.
He also said the group was in the midst of refurbishing its branches. – Bernama
