Citigroup names top female exec to run consumer unit


NEW YORK: Citigroup Inc has named Marjorie Magner, one of a handful of top female executives at the world’s largest financial services company, chairman and chief executive of its colossal global consumer business. 

Magner, 54, has been the consumer unit’s chief operating officer since April 2002, and sits on Citigroup’s management committee. She will report to Robert Willumstad, her 57-year-old predecessor, who is becoming Citigroup’s COO.
