THE Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance released in 2001 recommended that accreditation be introduced for all directors of listed companies in the form of attendance at formal training and education.
This move would enhance the professionalism and skills of directors and keep them updated on recent developments in regulations and legislations and changes in best boardroom practices, including shareholder protection, among others.
