MALAYSIA'S trade surplus grew 6.6% to RM6.8bil in June, from RM6.4bil in May, taking the year-on-year increase for the first half-year to 61.4%, according to statistics released yesterday by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti).

It was the 68th consecutive month of trade surplus since November 1997, and the strongest in four months, driven by higher exports of electrical and electronic products, liquefied natural gas, and textiles and clothing.
