SEOUL: South Korea’s top mobile phone operator SK Telecom Co posted a bigger-than-expected rise in quarterly profits yesterday, bolstered by subscriber growth and surging use of Internet and text messaging services.
SK Telecom is signing up customers faster than its main rival KTF Corp and customers are spending more through increasing use of wireless data services, boosting its profit 18.9% in the second quarter.
