TOKYO: Computer and chipmaker Toshiba Corp reported yesterday a bigger first-quarter loss than a year ago, hurt by low prices for notebook computers abroad and poor demand for TV sets.
The company, however, maintained its forecast for a full-year group net profit of 40 billion yen (US$334mil) and an operating profit of 170 billion yen on sales of 5.7 trillion yen.
