TOKYO: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd, the maker of Panasonic products, recorded weaker-than-expected quarterly earnings yesterday, with slow demand in the United States offsetting brisk domestic sales.
In its mainstay audio-visual products division, Matsushita, the world’s second largest consumer electronics maker after Sony Corp, saw strong sales of DVD recorders and flat-panel TV sets.
