COMMERCE Asset-Holding Bhd (CAHB) has been granted approval by Bank Negara to start talks with Bukhary Capital Sdn Bhd to sell its 30% stake in Bank Muamalat.
In a statement to the KLSE, CAHB said the approval to dispose of its Islamic bank unit would be valid until Sept 17.
“We expect discussions and negotiations to commence soon and will make further announcements on their progress at the appropriate time,'' CAHB added.
Khazanah Nasional Bhd holds the remainder of equity interest in Bank Muamalat.
