MALAYSIA will be proposing the establishment of an Asean Oil & Gas Institute as a centre to jointly undertake region-wide research and development projects in the oil and gas industry, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Bernard Dompok yesterday.
The institute, envisaged as a joint effort involving all Asean national oil companies, would carry out research and development in oil exploration, production and refining, gas processing and petrochemical and related industries, he said in a keynote address at the opening of the 4-day Asian Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition in Seri Kembangan.
