IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad was born in Smهland, in the south of Sweden and raised on a farm called Elmtaryd, near the village of Agunnaryd.
Even as a young boy, Kamprad knew that he wanted to develop a business. He started by selling matches to neighbours on his bicycle. This led to selling fish, Christmas tree decorations, seeds and later ball-point pens and pencils.
