Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) is targeting one million credit-card holders by the end of next year from about 800,000 now, thanks largely to the bank's existing big customer base and its loyalty programme.
Executive vice-president and head of cards business group, Ashraf Ali Abdul Kadir, said that with its five million customers, Maybank was confident of breaching the one million mark and improving its market share in the credit-card segment.
