Health Solutions to ride on 20% growth of the industry

HEALTH Solutions (South East Asia) Sdn Bhd aims to achieve more than RM30mil in revenue this year compared with over RM20mil last year.

Its executive director Anil Kumar said the target was in line with the expected 15% to 20% growth of the health solutions industry this year.

It would be further boosted by new government projects in the health industry to be launched under the latest economic package, he said. The bulk of the group's revenue for the current year would come from the 76-bed medical facility in Setiu, Terengganu, worth RM65mil, he said after a media briefing on the group's services in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

The Setiu project, due to be handed over to the government on July 24, included designing, building, equipping and maintaining the hospital block, nurses quarters, staff quarters and the visitors area.

The company's previous project was a 250-bed government district hospital in Slim River, Perak. Costing RM150mil, it was completed in December 2000.

It also has a 20-year contract to manage the Peel Health campus in Mandurah, Western Australia. Peel Health is a privately operated hospital providing a full range of services to both public and private care patients.

He said the company had invested RM1mil to develop its own software package, the Total Hospital Information System (THIS) that could result in savings of 25% to 30% in operational cost.

THIS is a comprehensive management information system package that automates all processes and procedures in a hospital.

He said the company hoped to tap part of RM4.6bil allocated for health-related development and operational expenditure under the 8th Malaysia Plan. – Bernama
