NEW YORK: Foreign banks are closing their offices in the Big Apple at a rate of two a month due to a weak world economy and the consolidation of the industry, a business publication has revealed.
Since 1997, the number of banks in the city dropped from 375 to 235, down 37% according to Federal Reserve data.
