Proton out to boost presence in Iranian market

Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd (Proton) is making concerted efforts to boost its presence in Iran with the possible introduction of new Proton models there and by initiating co-operation between Malaysian and Iranian motor vehicle component makers. 

“From the feedback and the overwhelming interest shown by Iranian car buyers, we believe the Proton Arena would be a suitable model to introduce into that market,’’ Proton chief executive officer Tengku Tan Sri Dr Mahaleel Tengku Ariff said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
