TOKYO: Japanese truck makers, such as Isuzu Motors Ltd and Hino Motors Ltd, are expanding exports to South-East Asia and China in a bid to meet rising demand in these potentially large markets, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported.
Isuzu is set to export a combined 13,000 large and mid-size trucks, each with a load capacity of four tonnes or more, to South-East Asia and China in the year to March 2004, up 40% from a year earlier, the report said, without citing sources. Of these, 6,000 units will go to South-East Asia and the rest to China.
