KARENSOFT Technology Bhd will continue to intensify its research and development (R&D) and enhance its core products such as its extended enterprise resources planning (ERP2) system.
The company spent about RM1mil on R&D last year and would spend a similar amount on applied and pure R&D on emerging technologies this year, said executive chairman Chee Chong Hwa.
Listed on Mesdaq, it also aims to consolidate its nationwide presence by the year-end with the opening of new branches in Johor Baru, Kuching and Cyberjaya.
“We plan to open an office in Kuching by the end of this year as part of our penetration into east Malaysia,” Chee said after the company's AGM in Penang on Thursday.
He said the Prai-based company aimed to be a leading ERP2 solutions provider in the Asia-Pacific region.
“The consolidation will enable us to forge ahead as one of the leading enterprise solutions providers in Malaysia,” he said.
To date, he said the company had only tapped 0.86% share of the local market and was aiming for about 5%.
He said the company had been awarded a RM500,000 contract by a Kuala Lumpur-based company and would roll out its first ERP solution for the service sector by the third quarter this year. – Bernama
