LANGKAPURA Food Industry, which produces handmade chocolates DKawi Chocolate, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two companies to expand its market.
The two companies are Moet Management from Batu Pahat, Johor, and HBM Food Industries from Ulu Kinta, Perak, Langkapura Food manager Salehuddin Idris said yesterday,
Moet Management has a supermarket chain in Johor including in Muar and Air Hitam, as well as 4 mini-markets in Batu Pahat while HBM Food is a manufacturer and distributor of snacks in Perak, Selangor and Negri Sembilan.
Salehuddin said that under the MoU, Langkapura Food would supply its own chocolates worth RM20,000 each month to the two companies starting next month.
With the agreement, Langkapura Food moves one step forward in its effort to expand its market, he said.
Langkapura Food is the sole bumiputra producer of handmade chocolates in Langkawi. Some of its chocolates contained tongkat ali while some have pineapple, durian and banana flavours.
The company, which is on the lookout for new markets in and outside the country, has a branch in Plaza Langkawi and a few shops in Kuah. Bernama
