LONDON: WPP plc, the third largest global advertising firm, has submitted an improved bid for financially strapped British rival Cordiant, topping a joint offer from France’s Publicis and US hedge fund Cerberus, a source familiar with the negotiations said.
Publicis, the world’s fourth largest ad company, confirmed yesterday it was in talks to buy the troubled firm responsible for classic ad slogans such as “M&M’s melt in your mouth, not in your hand”.
