VISA International expects 10% of its credit cards in Malaysia to be Europay-MasterCard-Visa (EMV) chip enabled by the year-end, said its Asia Pacific head of chip implementation Bruce Mansfield.
He said Visa had been preparing the country's banks to launch their chip initiative over the last three to six months and viewed Malaysia as the third in terms of EMV migration in the Asia Pacific after Japan and Taiwan.
