Rebound for electronics and electrical sectors seen in 2nd half of 2003


The Penang electronics and electrical (E&E) industry, optimistic of a positive turnaround in the 2nd half of 2003, is poised to tap market opportunities arising from the rebound.  

According to Connecticut-based market research firm, Gartner the global personal computer shipments for this year will hit 136.9 million units which is a 6.6% increase from last year with revenue targeted to hit US$170.6bil (up 3.3% from last year) despite the impact of Iraq war and the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
