RHB chalks up RM457,000 Q3 pre-tax profit

RASHID Hussain Bhd (RHB) has posted a pre-tax profit of RM457,000 for the third quarter ended March 31, compared with a pre-tax loss of RM18.5mil in the corresponding quarter of 2002.  

The company also posted higher revenue of RM816.5mil for the quarter under review, compared with RM768.9mil previously. 

For the nine months ended March 31, RHB posted higher pre-tax profit of RM121mil on revenue of RM2.37bil compared with pre-tax profit of RM47.9mil on revenue of RM2.4bil in the corresponding period last year.  

RHB Capital Bhd reported a higher pre-tax profit of RM117.9mil for the third quarter ended March 31, compared with RM75.1mil in the corresponding quarter of 2002. 

It posted revenue of RM881.5mil, compared with RM780.5mil previously. 

For the 9 months to March 31, RHB Capital posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM380.9mil on revenue of RM2.5bil, compared with a pre-tax profit of RM325.5mil on revenue of RM2.4bil in the previous corresponding period.  

RHB Bank Bhd registered higher pre-tax profit of RM176.1mil for the 9 months ended March 31, compared with RM165.1mil previously. 

RHB Delta Finance Bhd posted a pre-tax profit of RM35.1mil in the same period. 

Despite weak equity market conditions, RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Bhd posted a higher pre-tax profit of RM67.4mil for the 9 months ended March 31, compared with RM50.2mil previously. 

RHB group executive chairman Datuk Seri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib said the financial group has a strong institutional shareholding and firm foundation for sustained profitability and future growth. 

“We are confident that the measures being implemented will see the group emerge stronger as a leading integrated financial services group in Malaysia,” he said.
