IT is back to the original arrangement in commission rates for inter-broker and institutional trades. These will remain fully negotiable, the Securities Commission (SC) announced yesterday.
The decision comes in the wake of the unhappiness expressed by many stockbroking firms, including foreign brokerages, on the drive by the Association of Stockbroking Companies of Malaysia (ASCM) to impose minimum commission rates for all trades to prevent unhealthy competition and cover research costs incurred by some brokers.
