  • MSTi Corp Sdn Bhd, an information technology unit of KLSE-listed Ancom Bhd, has appointed Chan Kok Wai as chief operating officer effective June 1. 

    Chan, who has a master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, was previously head of MSTi’s software department and corporate services department. 

    He spent eight years in the audit and accounting profession before progressing to the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, where he has accumulated 18 years of experience, mainly in training, support and adoption of formal methodologies in systems development, evaluation and implementation. 

    Before joining MSTi in 1999, Chan was the head of consulting at Oracle Malaysia; and as consultant with PNB Information Technologies (PNBIT), he was actively involved in the information strategy planning for the Road Transport Department and National Registration Department. 

  • M-Suites, an all-suite hotel in Johor Baru, has appointed Maimunah Abdul Rahman as director of communications. 

    The hotel said in a statement that Maimunah had more than 10 years of experience in business communications, including training top management and high-ranking individuals in oral and written communication. 

    In her current position, she will oversee M-Suite's corporate communications activities, including planning and implementing all communication and branding strategies. She will also supervise marketing and promotional activities. 

    Maimunah has a master's degree in applied linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, Britain.
