WCT Engineering Bhd said a joint venture between its wholly-owned unit WCT Construction Sdn Bhd and a MTD Capital Bhd subsidiary had last Friday received a letter of acceptance for a sub-contract, worth RM343.6mil, for the Bakun hydroelectric project.
It said in a statement that the sub-contract works awarded by China Water and Hydropower Engineering Corp is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings and net tangible assets of the WCT group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2004 onwards.
