Rangkaian Segar sees 30% cost savings

RANGKAIAN Segar Sdn Bhd expects to save 20% to 30% in its operational cost when all highway operators start using Touch 'n Go card effective June 1. 

The electronic toll collection is cheaper compared with cash toll collection,”' chief operating officer Swinder Grewal told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. 

With the electronic system, Rangkaian Segar could monitor its cash flow accurately, she said.

Rangkaian Segar is the operator of the Touch 'n Go electronic payment system for the premier prepaid smart card, Touch 'n Go.  

It is one card suited to several payment applications from tolls, LRT and bus services to parking and theme park tickets. 

For public transport users, Touch 'n Go can be used to pay fares for Putra LRT and its feeder bus services, as well as Cityliner bus services. 

“We have also extended the application for parking at selected hotels, commercial buildings and shopping complexes in the Klang Valley to parking and theme park tickets.” 

She said with this multi application feature, users could enjoy hassle-free convenience as Touch 'n Go takes away the need for cash. 

According to Swinder, the card also provides fast passage and quick transaction on dedicated lanes at participating toll expressways. – Bernama
