  • Genting: GENTING shares extended Wednesday's gain to close 40 sen higher at RM12.70 yesterday in active trade of 1.6 million shares. The counter, along with other gaming and leisure-related stocks, attracted strong interest as investors expected measures under the recently announced economic package to benefit these companies. 

  • IJM: CONSTRUCTION stock IJM jumped 8 sen to RM4.18 after the group reported a 23% growth in pre-tax profit for the first quarter ended March 31 on the back of 62% higher revenue. However, analysts were not too impressed, saying that the results came in 20% lower than consensus estimates. They were also cautious about the group's prospects, noting IJM's order book now was below RM1bil.
