SINGAPORE Airlines Ltd, Asia's most profitable carrier, reported yesterday a 40% slide in second-half profit and warned of a first quarter loss as SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) pummels passenger traffic.
Unlike its regional rivals Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd and Qantas Airways Ltd, Singapore Airlines had not previously issued a profit warning.
