SELANGOR attracted about 30% of the 198 projects approved for the whole country between January and February this year, said state executive councillor in charge of investment Datuk Tang See Hang.
Selangor leads with 57 projects. However, the state falls 2nd place behind Negri Sembilan in terms of capital investment, he said, adding that these projects comprised 33 new projects and 24 expansion projects, creating employment for 3,883 people.
Tang said Selangors capital investment of RM1.04bil came from RM762mil worth of domestic investment and RM276mil foreign investment.
The five main industries contributing to Selangor in terms of capital investments were transport equipment (RM462mil), science equipment (RM240mil), electric and electrical products (RM113.5mil), food manufacturing (RM58.9mil) and machinery manufacturing (RM48.6mil).
