INVESTMENTS by local funds in the KLSE rose 28% last year to RM39.8bil from RM31.2bil in 2001, compared with an increase of 16% by foreign funds to RM41.2bil from RM35.5bil.
CIMB Securities said if local fund investments in the KLSE continued to gain strength, local fund managers would, for the first time, hold more equities than their foreign counterparts.
